It’s no secret that I adore babies. That’s pretty much the reason that I have 5 of my own. I love to hold them. I love the way they cling to you. I love the absolute trust they give, their utter vulnerability…and their smell! And their little toes are almost too much for me.
With my last baby, knowing she was my last, I had no problem sitting on the couch holding her all day. The house was a disaster, I didn’t cook one single thing, and it may or may not be true that my 4-yr-old was in a PBS Kids coma during that time. I can neither confirm or deny that one. But this much is true, my little girl was loved, held and cherished. She stayed close to my heart, literally, for about 2 weeks. Then she started to grow up, like they all do.
So when I’m asked to schedule a newborn shoot, no matter how busy the day is, I can’t turn it down. It’s a win-win, really. I get a newborn fix and my clients get images of that too-short moment of their new little one’s life.
Meet Baby Olivia, 12-days-old. So sweet and so tiny. And so loved. Especially by her big sister, Savannah. You can tell these two are going to be fast friends. Mr. DeMille, Savannah is ready for her close up, whenever you are. She was a pro at having her photo taken…and completely patient when her sister was in the spotlight. It was a pleasure to meet you Miss Olivia. Thanks for letting me get my fix!
