Friday Favorites: Valentine Ideas

A couple of weeks until Valentine’s Day. Unreal. Where does the time go? I walked into Target the day after Christmas and, I kid you not, they had Valentine’s stuff out already. I firmly pushed another holiday out of my mind…and now it’s sneaking up on me!

Here are a couple of things I’m loving:

1. This Valentine heart string: A few years ago my kids and I spent a whole evening cutting out snowflakes as part of our Christmas decorations. We hang all 36 from our banister, which opens to the floor below. It’s our version of snow in southern California! And they are my favorite Christmas decoration, because my munchkins’ hands made them. I think this Valentine string holds the same potential.

2. Valentine Crush: So cute…I probably wouldn’t do them for my kids’ classrooms (3 elementary classes x 25 kids per class…uh…no)…but I would love to make one for each of my boys.

3. Photo Heart Ornaments: You could make these into a garland or hang individually around the house. I can’t decide if I like the photos or the verbiage. Let’s be honest…it’s probably too crafty for me. (It looks suspiciously like it involves measuring and cutting –repeat a lot–and time…) But I do love it.

Now I’m off to the store to buy my traditional, low-stress valentines. Cute stuff for my house…easy stuff for the kids to pass out at school!
