I love that as a photographer in southern California I rarely have to think about if the weather will cooperate or if I will be able to do a photo shoot outside. In fact, I shot this session in Ocean Beach on a balmy 80 degree January day. I had never been to Ocean Beach before, but instantly fell in love with it as a photo location. You get the beach, a pier, rocks, quirky wall murals, palm trees, old buildings, etc. It’s the perfect little California beach town. (Hodad’s Burgers is there too!)
The Hollis family recently moved to this paradise from Connecticut and thought a beach shoot was the perfect way to celebrate. Just go ahead and add them to the list of clients I love! They were easy going and fun (notice all the laughing photos) and I left with a huge smile on my face. My favorite thing about these photos is that you can SEE how much they love each other. I’m not my a big director at my shoots — I prefer to just let things happen and capture them. So these photos are purely them. Gorgeous.
