While my kids were kicking it at home during Thanksgiving break, I was kicking it with Kamee June at her workshop. I don’t attend many workshops. I just don’t have the time. In fact, this is only the second one I’ve been to. And I have to say, I’m so thrilled it went!
Kamee is wonderful — really — I can’t say enough nice things about her. She’s the type of person who makes you feel like an instant best friend. Plus, it was a stylized shoot, so add to it stylist extraordinaire, Katrina Kirk (www.kitschbykat.blogspot.com) and our fabulous models for the evening, Alicia and Josh, who made our job ridiculously easy.
A couple’s shoot has it’s own vibe. It’s all about them and capturing who they are as a couple. Couples fascinate me. I love the unique relationship each one has. I love to hear how they met. What they love about each other. I like to watch how they interact. And if possible, I like to push my shutter button and freeze that moment in time.
Check out this couple from the workshop. Their 4 kids (!!!) are going to see these pictures and say “Wowza!” (o.k. they might actually say “Gross!”) But when Alicia and Josh are 90, they are going to look back on these photos and smile (really big) and marvel at how outrageously gorgeous they were.
A big thank you to The Mission Inn for allowing us to shoot on their property.
