Chirp! Chirp! Chirp! (Crickets chirping = blog silence)
O.K. it’s been a while since I’ve updated my blog. Between spring break in Arizona, a trip to Washington D.C., and simply making myself sit down and blog (it can be a chore for me sometimes!) a month has somehow come and gone without one single blog post. Shame on me. Especially when I have so many cute sessions to blog.
Check out these kiddos. Maybe the easiest kids I’ve ever photographed…no joke. Their dad plays hockey on the Washington Capitals and we decided that old town Alexandria would be the perfect place for their session. Be still my heart…old town Alexandria is gorgeous. I had a ball walking around and checking out all the cool architecture and soaking up the history of the place. It was founded in the 1749…that’s ancient for the United States.

A word on these next photos. While I always like to get a classic head shot for my clients, I also like to document childhood for them too. With my own kids, I often take photos of their unique facial expressions, their quirks, and document their personalities in some way. I try to stop time for just a moment.
My hope is that the parents will look back on these photos and remember….it’s so easy to forget…the nuances about their children. For example, don’t you love the way this little guy walks?? I love the swing of the arm extending past his head! Can you image if we all walked around so uninhibitedly?
That’s my favorite thing about kids. What you see is what you get. They just ARE…without being self-conscience.
And did I mention that he REALLY likes bugs too. We searched for them throughout our whole walk. He probably won’t do that in a couple of years…but at 3-years-old, he loved bugs. Here’s the proof.

Washington D.C. was such a fun trip — more of a workation than a full-fledged business trip. Next up, San Jose! Check out the travel section on the left hand side of the blog for exact dates, pricing, etc. Contact me if you’re interested in a session. Know someone in that area?? Spread the word — the more the merrier!
