One more session from Alexandria I want to post…this one totally different than the last one. This little guy’s dad is also on the Washington Capitals. Great peeps on that team! We originally planned to walk around Alexandria and get some shots in old town. However, the day of our session, it was rainy and cold. Too wet and cold to take a toddler out. So we decided to shoot inside and get some “day in the life” images.
(I’m not going to lie, the shooting conditions were tricky. There wasn’t much light coming into the house…and being a townhouse built in 1800…there wasn’t much light inside either. Thank goodness for my lovely Nikon D700 and its ability to shoot at high ISOs. Lifesaver!)
Being a mother is a beautiful thing. I believe wholeheartedly that there is nothing more sacred than raising a child. It’s a work of love…one that lasts day in and day out for the life of that child. Sometimes I think it’s easy to forget this as you change endless diapers and deal with the constant demands of childhood. But, contrary to what you may feel some days, changing diapers won’t last forever. Either will reading books together, racing up the stairs, dancing in the window sill or listening to the airplanes fly overhead. One moment they are a newborn…blink…then they are walking…blink…then they are in high school. O.K. maybe not quite that fast…but sometimes it definitely feels like it.
K: I hope you look at these photos are SEE what a great mom you are! And I hope that you will remember and cherish these moments…they’ll be gone in the blink of an eye.
Judah: You are a great guard dog and way more obedient than my children!
