Have you read Jamie Lee Curtis’ book, It’s Hard to be Five? She has written a couple really cute children’s books, but this one is a favorite in our household. I’ve checked it out so many times from the library, that I finally just went out and bought the darn book.
This munchkin did it. He turned 5 without even consulting with me.
He has an “H” in front of the 5 because that’s how he rolls. He knows how to spell his name. C.H.A.S.E…but he usually adds X4 to the end. Just because.
He’s my buddy. He doesn’t want to go to kindergarten, because he wants to stay home with me. He doesn’t want to play sports, because he wants to stay home with me. You get the picture.
He follows me around the house and will play wherever I am. He’s funny, fierce, independent, a devout non-conformist and loves to wrestle. He’s pretty strong too. Since his brother doesn’t read my blog, I’ll go ahead and admit that he can take down his 7 year old brother, no problem.
He and I have an ongoing compliment war going on. It goes something like this:
Chase: You’re beautiful
Me: You’re funny
Chase: You’re nice
Me: You’re charming
Chase: You’re cuddly
Me: You’re clever
It goes on and on until one of us eventually runs out of adjectives.
O.K. bud, you turned 5. But that’s it…don’t even get any ideas about turning 6!
